We had a quick trip to the UK in February and found time to spend a couple of nights in Mousehole, Cornwall. This is a very special place for us in the origin story of our boat name. It is also a spectacularly beautiful piece of Cornwall – a picture post card Cornish harbour with a centuries old fishing tradition.
After a very hectic few days we escaped for a few wonderful days down here, staying at the Ship Inn and soaking up the atmosphere. We had a superb room overlooking the harbour, the pub was excellent and the seafood was exceptional. Newlyn, one of the UK’s largest fishing towns is just around the corner, so the local seafood was the best. The icing on the cake was the weather. Our stay in the UK had been classically English February wet, cold and miserable. But our few days in Mousehole, the sun came out and we got the other classic English weather, clear winter days with lots of wind. We had a wonderful walk along the coast to Newlyn and Penzance.
We’re so glad we managed to get here, take some memorable photos and collect a couple of Mousehole souvenirs for the boat.
